Abstract Acceptance
Abstract Submission Deadline: October 15, 2025
The 2nd International Association for Education, Research and Development in Midwifery Congress aims to bring together high-quality research conducted in the field of health sciences, fostering interdisciplinary scientific interaction and collaboration. Within this framework, under the main theme of “Health Sciences Research,” original studies based on scientific principles and methods, produced in both clinical and academic fields, will be accepted as oral presentations.
Types of Research to be Accepted
Participants are expected to submit studies that meet the following criteria:
- Descriptive and cross-sectional studies
- Qualitative research
- Randomized controlled experimental studies
- Mixed-method studies
- Epidemiological studies with strong methodology (case-control or cohort design)
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses (prepared in accordance with PRISMA standards)
While submissions from all health disciplines are welcome, research in the field of midwifery is particularly encouraged. Priority will be given to studies focusing on:
- Midwifery Education
- Clinical Practice
- Innovation and Use of Technology in Health
- Evidence-Based Practices in Health
- Maternal and newborn care
- Reproductive Planning
- Professional Autonomy
- Professional Organization
- Artificial intelligence in midwifery practice
- Women’s Health
- Narrative literature reviews will not be considered.
Submission Requirements
- Abstracts must be submitted both in Turkish and English.
- Abstracts should contribute to scientific development and present clear conclusions.
- As abstracts will be published exactly as submitted, authors are responsible for all spelling and grammatical errors.
- Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the online congress system. Submissions via email or post will not be accepted.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission system.
- Do not use academic titles in author names.
- Author names should be written in lowercase, with only the first letter capitalized.
- Institutional affiliations and departments of all authors must be indicated.
- The abstract title should begin with a capital letter only (except for international abbreviations).
- Abstracts must briefly state the aim and methods, summarize the findings with sufficient numerical detail, and conclude with results.
- Abstracts should be written directly into the designated fields of the system, without additional subheadings.
- Abstract length must not exceed 300 words, excluding the title and author names.
- TAbstracts should include the following structured headings: Introduction–Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
- Abstracts will be accepted only as ORAL presentations; please select the most relevant category during submission.
- Abstracts must be submitted in text format; one table and one figure may be included.
- References should not be included in abstracts.
Abstracts not meeting these requirements will be rejected regardless of content.
Evaluation of Abstracts
All abstracts will be evaluated online by the Abstract Review Committee. Author names and institutions will remain blinded. Each abstract will be reviewed by two independent referees. Results will be communicated to authors via email.
Presentation Guidelines
- Accepted oral presentations may be prepared using any electronic presentation software.
- Presentation duration will be specified in the acceptance letters.
- The presenting author must complete congress registration to present.
- One author may present a maximum of two oral presentations.
- Abstracts not presented at the congress will not be published in the abstract book.
- Presentations must be submitted to the Speaker Ready Room at the congress venue on the morning of the presentation day.
Full-Text Submission Guidelines
- Congress presentations may be submitted as full-text papers if desired (not mandatory).
- Full-texts must be uploaded via the online congress system.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not previously presented.
- Plagiarism reports are required. A similarity rate of ≤20% will be accepted. Reports must be uploaded with the full-text.
- For full-text publication, at least one author must be registered for the congress, and the abstract must have been presented.
- The full-text submission deadline is 14 December 2025, 23:59 (Sunday).
- Author order in full-text submissions must match the original abstract submission
- If the study is derived from a project, project number and funding details must be stated at the end of the text.
- If the study is derived from a thesis, the supervisor’s name, thesis title, and institution must be included.
- Accepted full-texts will be published in the Congress Proceedings Book with an ISBN number under the name of AERDM, and will be available in PDF format on the congress and association websites.
Formatting Instructions for Full-Text Submissions
Abstract: Both Turkish and English (≤300 words). Must include
Introduction–Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion, Keywords.
Title: Written in all caps, maximum two lines.
Author Names: First name with only the initial capitalized, surname in all caps.
Text: Times New Roman, size 11, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment. No indentation. A 6 pt space between paragraphs.
Page Layout: A4, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
Tables: Numbered, with bold titles placed above the table. Only the first word of the title capitalized. Table content in standard font (not bold).
Figures: Centered, numbered, with sources cited. Figure titles bold, placed below the figure, with only the first word capitalized.
Page Numbers: Should not be included.
References: Must follow APA style. All references listed must be cited in the text. Number references according to order of citation.
In-Text Citation Examples:
In a study conducted by Karahan and colleagues, skin-to-skin contact at birth was reported to have positive effects on breastfeeding (Karahan & Şimşek, 2017).
